“Repensando Uva: Património, Arquitectura e Planeamento”

Aldeia de Uva (Vimioso)
A Palombar está a preparar a abertura do Centro de Interpretação dos Pombais Tradicionais, em Uva, que pretende ser o ponto de partida para a descoberta não só da aldeia, mas também da paisagem natural envolvente, ao mesmo tempo que se aprende mais sobre esses edifícios tão peculiares.
Uva (concelho de Vimioso) encontra-se no Nordeste Transmontano, perto do rio Douro, numa área fronteiriça geralmente conhecida como Planalto Mirandês. Apesar de ser uma aldeia muito pequena, com poucos habitantes, tem mais de 30 pombais tradicionais e outros elementos de património (construído e natural) notáveis.
O principal objectivo do XXXIV Campo de Trabalho Voluntário Internacional, que terá lugar em Uva, de 12 a 20 de Abril, é juntar um grupo de trabalho criativo, não só para aprofundar o conhecimento sobre o território, mas também para estimular o debate sobre uma abordagem integrativa ao património rural que possa ser aplicado a este caso em particular. Os voluntários vão juntar-se à equipa da Palombar para mapear o território, identificar os pontos de interesse e encontrar soluções inventivas para os mostrar, bem como para desenhar o Percurso dos Pombais Tradicionais.
As actividades de lazer serão um complemento ao trabalho realizado, já que os voluntários serão convidados a descobrir a riqueza natural e cultural da região: a Palombar irá organizar caminhadas e passeios para observação de aves, visitas às vilas mais próximas e a outros locais de interesse (castelo de Algoso, o Centro de Valorização do Burro de Miranda), assim como irá promover o contacto com a comunidade local.

Palombar has been preparing to open the Traditional Dovecotes’ Interpretation Centre in Uva, which is intended to be the starting point for visitors to set off exploring not only the village, but also its natural surroundings, while learning about those peculiar buildings.

Uva (Vimioso) is located in the Northeast of Portugal, near the Douro River, in an area that borders with Spain and which is commonly known as the Miranda Plateau. Even though it is a very small village with only a few inhabitants, it is home to more than 30 traditional dovecotes and other priceless heritage elements – both built and natural.
The main goal of the XXXIV International Volunteer Workcamp, which is going to take place in Uva, from the 12th to the 20th of April, is to bring together a creative workgroup, not only to deepen the knowledge on the territory, but also to stimulate the debate on an integrative approach to rural heritage which could be applied to this specific case. Volunteers will be asked to join the Palombar team in mapping the territory, identifying the interest points and coming up with inventive solutions to showcase them, as well as designing the Traditional Dovecotes’ Route.
